    Bromhexine hydrochloride is a medication prescribed by doctors to overcome cough up phlegm. These drugs are mainly provided for those who suffer from cough but difficult to remove sputum.

    Bromhexine works by helping the body's normal process in terms of clear phlegm from the respiratory tract. You do this by increasing production of fluid in the airways so that the phlegm becomes more dilute. Bromhexine also lubricate the airways filled by thick phlegm and difficult to remove.

    In addition to a single drug, bromhexine are also produced in combination with other cough medicines.

    Almost no interaction was found negative effects of bromhexine with other drugs. Not advisable to consume this drug to pregnant women with gestational age of less than 3 months or mothers who are breastfeeding. Some rare side effects include immune system disorders, skin disorders and respiratory disorders.

    Bromhexine not allowed to be consumed by those suffering from lactose intolerance.
